HAVE ANY QUESTIONS
Yes, water is detrimental to insulation, just like Kryptonite is to Superman. That’s why we’ve coated Norlite with a form of silicone that prevents water from adsorbing to the perlite particles, making it completely water repellent. Therefore, you can also trust Norlite to act as a capillary barrier against any moisture that may rise from the underground.
While Norlite is indeed expanded using natural gas, Nordisk Perlite has a system in place for using the excess heat to create district heating, dramatically reducing its carbon footprint.
So, you can trust that Norlite is produced in the least polluting way possible, and that after use it can be used over and over again.
However, we encourage you to consider the total cost of use, including product, labor, and waste costs, before making a decision.
Norlite reduces both the time needed for application and any waste that needs to be removed after use.
Additionally, its low carbon emissions may make it a more attractive choice for your construction project.
While some materials may require a layer to block humidity from rising into the insulation, reducing their effectiveness, Norlite is completely water repellent and prevents humidity from rising more than 40mm in the insulation layer.
